City Mix
We visited our friends R&D in downtown Denver and enjoyed lots of walking & bicycling to great food for a couple of days. I was inspired by the city’s impressive bicycle infrastructure. We visited Red Rocks, had a lovely afternoon hike at Maxwell Falls Trail, and spent our last evening there checking out Union Station, a historic landmark.

Port & Chocolate at Union Station:

We visited our friends M & V in Boulder. They took us to a delightful, memorable meal at the Dushanbe Teahouse . Wonderful atmosphere and experience, in this work of art which was constructed by hand in Tajikstan without the use of power tools. As the website says, It was disassembled, crated up, and sent halfway around the world to be rebuilt in Boulder as a symbol of friendship and cultural exploration. From there we took a walk around downtown & visited the Boulder Bookstore. I can’t remember the last time I visited a non-big box bookstore, so it was a really nice treat. I contributed to the economy there via a book of Inuit Art, some words from Robert Moss, and some Tibetan Juniper Incense. We finished the evening with outdoor dining at Sherpa’s Adventure Restaurant. Nepalese, Tibetan, and Indian food, yum!
One of the things I enjoyed about Central Boulder was the improvisational art, like botjoy, which happens to be M’s favorite. 🙂

We wish we’d spent more time in Boulder and been able to get out to Gold Hill, one of M & V’s favorite places. Hoping to do so on our next time out there.
Thank you, beautiful people, for your hospitality.
